On July 31, 2026, Wang Hongbo, Chairman of CIPS, held talks with Timur Suleimenov, Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, and his delegation. Both sides held in-depth discussions on deepening financial cooperation, advancing the development of the CIPS gateway project, and expanding local participation in the CIPS network.

In April this year, CIPS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the National Payment Corporation of Kazakhstan to jointly explore the construction of a CIPS gateway in Kazakhstan. This initiative aims to provide local commercial banks with more efficient and convenient access to CIPS services. Looking ahead, both sides are committed to strengthening cooperation on financial infrastructure and working together to enhance the security and stability of cross-border payments, thereby delivering better experience to market participants.
