On March 16, 2026, an RMB cross-border payment exchange event was held in Madrid, Spain. The event was jointly organised by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the China-Europe Enterprise Alliance and CIPS Co., Ltd.

Chairman Wang Hongbo attended the event and delivered remarks. He stated that, as an important infrastructure for cross-border RMB payment and clearing, CIPS looks forward to deepening cooperation with more European banks and enterprises, promoting the development of cross-border RMB business, and providing more efficient and convenient financial services for China-Europe economic and trade relations.
